What is the difference between "Juniors" and "Academy" players?
"Juniors" is our program specifically designed for the youngest players (ages 4-6) and those that are brand new to soccer or new to technical training that is common in club soccer. Training sessions are centered around the players learning the basic foundations of soccer through training and fun games. When they are completed with the Juniors program, players should have a basic understanding and ability to dribble, pass and properly strike a ball while learning the basics of team play. Players in the Junior program will train once a week on Tuesdays 6:30-7:30.
"Academy" is our program geared towards older players (ages 6-8) that have some basic technical skills and understanding already and are looking to continue to grow and develop those skills. Training sessions for these players will be centered on building on the basic skills they already have and continuing to develop individual technical skills. Players in the Academy program will train twice a week on Monday and Wednesday 6:30-7:30.
When is training?
Academy trains on Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30.
Juniors train Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30
Camp begins the week of April 6, 2026.
Where is training?
All training sessions are at the Warrior Soccer Complex - 4110 Fishburg Rd, Huber Heights Ohio. We will train on the fields just to the left of Fishburg Rd entrance. The first week, you should be able to see some banners and sails indicating where we are training. We ask that you park in the gravel parking spaces and not on the grass.
What should my child wear?
Jerseys have been ordered and will arrive in a week or two. In the meantime, please dress for the weather and being able to run around. Cleats are not required, and Shin Guards may be worn but are not necessary. We will have all the necessary equipment for training, We do recommend that you bring water for refreshment during breaks.
What if the weather is bad?
On practice days, we will make a decision before 4pm if we need to cancel the evenings training and send out an email to the email you provided us with if the decision to cancel is made. You can also check WarriorSocer.com, and there will be a notification under “Club News” if Juniors has been canceled for the evening. Soccer is often played in poor weather conditions; Juniors will not play in those kinds of conditions. The welfare of the kids will be a priority. If weather develops during a session, and we see any indication of lightning, we will cancel on the fly. Canceled sessions will not be made up.
Why only ages 4-8?
US Youth Soccer rules only allow players 7 and up to play competitively. We have partnered with Huber Heights Recreational Soccer, so that players at all levels can have the tools to prepare for select soccer if they choose to move to a more competitive level of play. We follow US National Soccer Recommendations along with our training from the United soccer Coaches Association to prepare players with a fun noncompetitive experience. If you have older players in your family, please look into them joining a team at tryouts this June - our coaches should be capable of teaching the skills learned in the Juniors program and helping your sons or daughters get caught up if they missed this opportunity in the past.
