Junior Warriors Spring 2019

Junior Warriors are about introducing area youth to the game of soccer and is instructional in nature. With fun games included in the training done by our All Area High School players under the direction of our Director of Coaching, the players are taught fundamental soccer skills that they will be a foundation for their skills to come. Now in its seventh year, we continue to grow and be the best. We evolved the program over the years to match US Soccer’s latest mandates in Age Appropriate training and Small sided games. We provide technical training along with structured small sided games based on US Soccer and the United Soccer Coaches Association's  recommended training guidelines.

Junior Warriors FAQ

We would like to welcome everyone to this year's Junior Warriors Program.  Very excited to start our 7th year in providing FUN technical training for the 4-8 year old's who are just getting acquainted with "the beautiful game".

As you may know, Junior Academy is for 7 and 8 Year Old's and they train Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30.  The Juniors division is for ages 4 to 6 and they train Wednesday evenings.  Below, are a few common questions you may have and the answers.  We will also have a short meeting with parents once the players get started.

Where is training?
All training sessions are at the Warrior Soccer Complex - 4110 Fishburg Rd, Huber Heights Ohio.
The Juniors, will be on the fields that run along Fishburg Rd.  They are not yet numbered but you should be able to see some banners and sails indicating where we are training.  Please feel free to use the new Chambersburg Rd. entrance if that is convenient.  We ask that you park in the gravel parking spaces just south of the fields and not on the grass.

What should my Son / Daughter wear?
Jerseys, will be ordered and will arrive in a week or two.  In the meantime, please dress for the weather and being able to run around.  Cleats are not required, and Shin Guards are recommended, especially for the academy as they start to play small sided games. Each player will receive their own ball.

What if the weather is bad?
We will make a decision before 4pm if we need to cancel the evenings training and send out an email to this address if the decision to cancel is made.  You can also check the website, the rotating banner will indicate if Juniors has been cancelled.  Soccer is often played in poor weather conditions, however Juniors will not play in those kinds of conditions.  As always, welfare of the kids will be a priority.  If weather develops during a session, and we see any indication of lightning, we will cancel on the fly.  Cancelled sessions will not be made up.

Why only ages 4-8?
Competitive Ohio Soccer rules only allow players to begin to play competitively at the age of 8 years old.  Players and Parents want to start playing sooner than that, and have come to us in the past stating that their local Rec. programs are not giving them the tools to prepare for competitive soccer when they become old enough.  We continue to grow the program and follow US National Soccer Recommendations along with our training from the United Soccer Coaches Association to prepare players with a fun non competitive experience.  if you have older players in your family, please look into them joining a team at tryouts this June - our coaches should be capable of teaching the skills learned in the Juniors Program and helping your sons or daughters get caught up if they missed this opportunity in the past.

Looking forward to seeing all of you.  If you have any further questions, please feel free to bring them up during the parent meeting after we get started.
